Denise Russell Joins Underwriting Team in Louisiana

Seasoned underwriter Denise Russell became the latest addition to the PICA team when she came out of retirement in October 2025 to join PICA’s underwriting effort for commercial lines in Louisiana.  Ms. Russell brings 35 years of experience in the insurance industry to PICA and a career which has spanned underwriting, producer, policy administration, customer service, and risk evaluation. 

Denise grew up in Belle Chasse, Louisiana and currently resides in Picayune, Mississippi.  On account of her life experience, Denise brings intimate knowledge and practical understanding to her role as underwriter for Louisiana.   

        “It’s a new experience (working for PICA).  I’m excited about the product that we are offering our Louisiana commercial customers,” she said.  When asked what it was about PICA which drew her out of retirement, Denise answered “(Being able) to help bring a product to Louisiana which gives flexibility on rating structure, and some relief from the high cost of insurance.” 

As PICA’s footprint in Louisiana continues to grow, Denise Russell’s wealth of experience and meticulous attention to detail have proved pivotal to the company’s expansion in the state.   Denise represents a vital addition to the PICA team as it continues to expand its operations throughout the Gulf South and beyond.
